This Christmas give back to your community in the way that best suits you

With Goods

The Salvation Army Kitchener Family Care Centre is the biggest supplier of Christmas Toy Hampers in the Waterloo Region. This year we will support families by providing toys for 5000 children between (0-15 years of age). We do our toy hamper distribution in a shopping model style where parents/caregivers can come into our building, and with the help of a volunteer, select gifts for their children from toys that have been donated.

We are always looking for donations of new unwrapped toys and gifts. It is our goal to provide each child with a book, stocking stuffers, 2 toy/gifts and a board game for the family.

Some examples of gifts are:

  • Dolls
  • Dress Up
  • Trucks
  • Board Games (all ages)
  • Lego
  • Art supplies/kits (all ages)
  • Headphones
  • Bluetooth Speakers
  • Gift Cards ($25 or $50 values)
  • Movie Tickets

We always find that we run short on gifts for teens.

All donations can be dropped off at 75 Tillsley Drive. Kitchener Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm

If you would like to arrange to drop off outside of these times, please call 519-745-3351 or email Pam at pam.nickell@salvationarmy.ca

With Time

Christmas Kettles

Our Christmas Kettles are the one major fundraiser we do each year. All of the money collected stays local to support those in need in the Kitchener and Waterloo area. The funds collected do not just support our Christmas efforts, they allow us to support and run programs year-round.

With the help of generous volunteers, every dollar raised goes directly toward providing vital support and services to those in need. Will you give just 2 hours of your time to be a bell ringer during our holiday campaign, running November 14 – December 24?

Your presence brings hope, your smile spreads cheer, and your time makes all the difference.

You can email kitchenercc.kettles@salvationarmy.ca or call 519-465-3830 to sign up today!

Toy Hampers

Starting December 1st, we’re looking for volunteers to assist with sorting and stocking shelves in preparation for our Christmas Toy Hamper Distribution. Support will be needed throughout the distribution period, as well as for cleanup in the days following.

We also need compassionate volunteers to help “shop” with families—guiding each client as they select gifts for their children. One volunteer is needed per client to ensure a welcoming and supportive experience. Distribution runs December 4–17 (Monday to Friday). Every hour you give helps bring joy and dignity to a family in need.
