General Information

Two Registrations per year:

 

  • September - for Fall Programming
  • March - for Spring & Summer Programming 

 

*** Due to children's ages & the limited childcare staff - program #'s are limited***


Times for Programming: Monday To Friday 9:15am - 11:15am & 12:45pm - 2:45pm



** Here at the Resource Centre we suggest $1/per person per program. This includes Parents, Grandparents, Caregivers, ALL Children (even babies)


**Those who frequent the programs are given the monthly option of $30 / mth.

RISE



Resilience, Inspiration, Support & Empowerment


This program is focused on parents who have children from newborn to age 7.

Time will be spent Belonging and Engaging as parents; topics will include:

  • Building resilience as a part of maintaining and protecting mental health. 
  • Being inspired is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something. 
  • Being supported with our parenting choices and the challenges of parenting. 

 for our children and our families. 

 -  Being empowered to understand that people are equal citizens. & that They are respected and confident in their communities.

 -  Crafts, Guest Speakers & an exciting time of just being parents.

Parents are in a classroom for their program just down the hallway from the playroom while their children are in the playroom with the Childcare staff & volunteers. The children will play, have a circle time, snack & have time in the gym.  


Early Learing

Learning

Baby Song (2 wks - ll mths).
uniquely designed for parents & children. Enjoy a time of learning interactive songs, finger plays and
rhymes. Parents also have a time of sharing ideas and suggestions on parenting challenges. 
Building Blocks (ages 30+mths)
uniquely designed to provide parent with the skills to foster early literacy development and an opportunity to practice these skills with their child. A Registered Early Childhood Educator leads the program and supports you as you develop your role as your child's first teacher.
Family Math (ages 30+ mths)
for parents who would like their child to enjoy success in math. Parents and their children attend sessions together and are involved in games and activities that develop early math concepts. Math can be fun!
Toddler Wonders I & II
Toddler Wonders 1 ... (12 - 17mths) Toddler Wonders 2 ... (18 -28mths) 
This 2-4 week program is uniquely designed for parents/caregivers with their toddlers. Enjoy a time of learning songs, finger plays, and rhymes. Simple activities using different elements (that are found in our everyday environment) will be introduced each program. 
Community Drop-In

Monday & Friday mornings 9:15 - 11:15 am


Parents/caregivers & children playtime together in our gym and playroom. 


Please bring peanut-free snacks and water bottle.


There are also some PD Day Drop-in days (indicated on monthly calendar) 


There is a circle time around 10:15 for the children.

Follow The Leader

Reggio Inspired Play: 
Parents learning to follow their child's lead in play. This program is designed for parents or caregivers with their children to go from play station to play station experiencing different play ideas & challenges. The concept of Reggio inspiration play will be the focus each session. Each week both the parent or caregiver & child will be encouraged by the RECE staff to try 'new & different' things during a time of play. Documentation & learning stories will be encouraged. 
Ladies Bible Study

Ladies Bible Study

This group is an interactive women's Bible study group. The group focuses on sharing life experiences as women and how they relate to Biblical principles. There is also a time for coffee and conversation.


Play Safe, Be Safe

Ages 4-6 yrs (August only) 



It will be held in August for 3 days@ 9:30-11:30. This Program is designed to teach fire safety basics Our Registered Early Childhood Educator will present videos, games & activities all related to fire & fire Safety. There are take home sheets & ac­tivities that involve the whole family. At the end of the program, we have a Firefighter/Fire Trucks attend the program and they test the children to see if they have learned the Rules of Fire Safety. They sometimes bring Fire equipment for the children to try on. 

There must be an adult responsible for each child on site during the program - 2 hrs.

This is a program to help you and your child be ready for the challenges of school. A Registered Early Childhood Educator will work with you and your child to help your child develop the skills needed to begin school with confidence. 
Children will take part in group activities including songs, finger plays and games. 
There will also be a time for parents to talk about and/or problem solve any anxiety or stress that you and/or your child might have. 
There must be an adult responsible for each child on site during the duration of program - 3 hrs.
